Hey,
I got an email from one of my readers asking about seo for articles. Here’s what he said:
One thing that confuses me… (!) is that you say to use your keywords as the title of the article. I have read elsewhere – and you touch upon it – that articles should be spun to create variations. Should the title always stay the same then?
And, since we are talking long-tail keywords, should all the keywords always be in the title? That would restrict the title somewhat and the title is really important as it makes people read – or not – the start of the article.
I just have a mental conflict going on about this!!! Can you help?
Graeme.
My reply:
Hey Graeme,
I’m not a big believer in spinning articles. You can do it and get success temporarily with the search engines, but your quality will obviously go down, which means your reputation will as well.
Do your keyword research the right way (see: http://mikesblog.net/keyword-research-software/) and you’ll have a ton of keywords to write quality articles about. Use the whole keyword term in the headline/title and the first words in the first 2-3 paragraphs and nowhere else.
Then follow the other steps in One Hour Google and you’ll dominate. Period. =]
Do you have any questions or experience with seo for articles you’d like to share…?
Talk to you soon.
~Mike Cowles.
