Ellen DeGeneres Strikes Back At Trump’s Travel Ban With “Finding Dory”
On Tuesday’s show, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres used “Finding Dory”, to convey a strong political statement.
In regards to Trump’s executive order to ban travel into the US by refugees and visitors from seven countries, the talk show host recounted the Disney Pixar film, in which she voiced the character Dory, and how Dory tried to find her parents so they could all be reunited together.
DeGeneres stated she wasn’t going to get political so she was going to stray away from talking about Trump’s travel ban. However, she decided to talk about a non-politcal (fish-y) family.
DeGeneres states how her character Dory was looking to reunite with her family by crossing a wall. And while on her journey to reunite with her parents, Dory found assistance from animals very different from her.
DeGeneres says “They help her, even though they’re completely different colors…Because that’s what you do when you see someone in need — you help them.”
